Job Description:

Sync Computing is searching for a full-time back-end software engineer located in Cambridge, MA. Remote work within the United States will be considered depending on applicant experience.

As a software engineer, you will be part of a growing interdisciplinary team and will work closely with other top-tier engineers to build, test, and deploy cutting-edge distributed software packages. We are looking for someone who loves diving into code, working with large datasets, and truly understanding the guts of how large-scale computing works. The responsibilities of the position include:

  • Assist in development and debug of core IP
  • Automate code testing and data collection
  • Work with big-data frameworks and workflows (e.g. Spark)
  • Build and maintain the latest generation of distributed computing frameworks



A technical background in electrical engineering, computer science, applied math, physics, or related fields is required, with a B.S., or M.S.,degree. The candidate must be familiar with basic programming languages (e.g. Python) and Linux operating systems. Experience with AWS is preferred and familiarity with Apache Spark is required. Candidates must have excellent written and oral communication skills, a strong desire to learn, be self-directed, and be motivated to work in a fast paced start-up environment. All levels of previous experience are encouraged to apply.
